Every year I ride to support our Primary School in the village of Kumi, Uganda. Through 3 mission trips since 2009, I have participated in laying bricks, sharing stories with kids, training teachers, and most of all, sharing God's love and joy with our beautiful friends in Kumi. Please consider helping me to lift up vulnerable children in Kumi, Uganda to furnish a Preschool. Thank you for any amount you can give!
2023 Kumi Benefit Ride/Hike
Through fundraising spearheaded by Chinese Community United Methodist Church in Oakland (CCUMC), in 2014, a brand new Primary School was opened in the rural area of Kumi, Uganda. It serves village children from preschool through 7th grade. Every year since then, cyclists and hikers have partnered to raise monies that have built dormitories, bathing rooms, a water system, fencing, and an athletic field on the school compound.
Over the past 3 years, our Annual Kumi Benefit Ride/Hike raised funds to build a much-needed PreSchool at Kumi Christian Visionary School. This year, we aim to raise $20,000 to furnish this building and provide desks and chairs for all teaching staff.
In addition to your generous donation, you are invited to participate in the April 22nd event, either in-person or remotely (www.runreg.com/kumi-benefit-walk). Thank you for giving vulnerable and underserved children a chance to get a decent education in Kumi!

What began as the dream of one young man to help vulnerable children in his underserved village in Kumi, Uganda, has grown into an NGO and Primary School. Through fundraising spearheaded by Chinese Community United Methodist Church (Oakland, CA) since 2010, Kumi Christian Visionary School was built and now serves hundreds of vulnerable children from preschool through 7th grade who live near the school.. Every year since 2015, cyclists and hikers have partnered to raise monies that have continued to build-out the campus, by constructing dormitories, bathing rooms, water systems, fencing, and an athletic field on the school compound.
