Many of you know that I suffered debilitating multiple injuries from a serious auto accident years ago and that each day since I am so grateful for the active life I lead. I choose Cape abilities as my charity as I have the physical capability to ride to raise funds for others who can't.
For over 50 years Cape Abilities has been supporting individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod by educating, counseling and providing residential, therapeutic, social and employment opporunities that empower them to achieve meaningful and valued roles in the community.
I look forward to sharing my progress with you as I ride this 70+ mile ride on the Cape in September.
Cape Abilities - Second Summer Cycle
A Charity Ride across Cape Cod
What:
Be part of the inaugural Second Summer Cycle! This is an exciting new event led
by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce-- a fully supported, cape wide, charity
ride benefiting 18 nonprofit organizations on Cape Cod. Ride a route of your
choosing: 33, 68 or 93 miles on beautiful back roads (and the rail trail if you
choose).
100% of the funds raised by riders go directly to the beneficiary of their
choice
Participate in a celebration at the end of the ride with food, music and
Barnstable Brewing beverages Second Summer Cycle Cans as memorabilia. Enjoy
a special day of riding the Cape landscape while also benefiting tens of thousands
of Cape Codders.

Where:
The Close to a Century ride starts in Mashpee, The Metric Century Plus (68) starts in Sandwich and the 30
Mile Plus (33) starts in Orleans. Safety is a top priority, expect support vehicles and police
presence, along with signage and volunteers along the route. All of the rides end
in Provincetown at Motta Field with a celebratory event for all!
The routes are subject to change.
