Welcome to my fundraising page to benefit Camp LUCK and the Lucky Unlimited Cardiac Kids. I hope you are able to either donate or participate in our "You Do You Bicycle Ride" on Saturday, April 24th.
We will begin as a "Friends 'n Family" Ride in Concord's starting at Les Myers Park in Concord, N.C. We will all then follow a most well user friendly route through historic portions of downtown Concord, that connects to the McEachern Greenway, encompassing a total of a 4 mile complete loop. It is composed of a wide paved trail for pedestrians and bicyclists (with helmets). There are trail markers ever 1/4 mile. Bathrooms are located at J.W. Mickey McGee park. Parts of the trail consist of long & flat low-lying wood paths over wetlands.
*Special note: The Thread Trail designated section of this trail system is the McEachern Greenway. Other segments of the Downtown Greenway Loop are located on neigboorhood sidewalks as opposed to independent greenway. Cyclists continuing on the non-Thread Trail segments should be aware of this distinction and heed traffic patterns.
Following the "Friends 'n Family" ride itself, those interested in seeing more of what Concord has to offer, we will then travel a very short distance to the new Brown Mill Community Mountain Bike Trail located just off of 2nd Street. A hand cut gem of a true single track trail, with just over a few miles of fast, flowing & heart working trail system made by multiple volunteers over the course of a year or so.
So whether you join us for the "Friends 'n Family Ride" on asphalt/solid surfaces with just 4 miles of fun, or 2-3 additional miles of singletrack bliss, we hope you join us in this no-drop-party-pace series of riding all to benefit a great program that is CAMP LUCK!
Be sure to follow our event portion on Facebook & our own website at www.BikinDads.com for event time specifics. Meanwhile, get registered for this litte bit of "good" & together, #BeTheDifference! Can't ride, no worries we hope you consider still donating under our team efforts here for the region.
Sincerely,
Mark Gordon
