On Saturday, August 19, 2023, I will bike up Mount Washington, a 7.6 mile all-uphill race to the summit of the highest peak in the northeastern United States.  VeloNews dubbed the event a Ride of a Lifetime. The Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb is the largest annual fundraiser for Tin Mountain Conservation Center.

So, this will be steep.  I hope it will not be snowing (at the top).  For those of you who know Mt. Washington, it is home to the worst weather ever recorded on earth.  I have hiked Mt. Washington a few times so I'm not clueless, just maybe stupid.

SPOILER ALERT: I'm not going to win this race.  My plan is to survive this challenge and go on to crush my CX races in the fall. And it is a tiny part of my 60th birthday celebration.

The important thing is to help me support, with your donations, a great environmental organization, Tin Mountain Conservation Center (TMCC), which has provided environmental education to over 75,000 students, campers, and individuals throughout schools and communities in Northern New Hampshire and western Maine for over 34 years. For sample of some of the work TMCC does with students, link to TMCC YouTube Channel.

While I have set the fundraising goal at the minimum bar, the more we raise together, the more Tin Mountain Conservation Center can do.  Every little bit helps.
