I am riding ODRAM 2023. For those who didn't read my fundraiser last year, or haven't heard me talk about the event since, it's a good time where a bunch of cyclists dressed in lycra ride across Michigan (West to East) in one day to raise money for the JDRF. For those who don't know, there is a bonus route where some lycra clad cyclists first ride a little west down to Lake Michigan to ceremoniously dip their rear wheels, then start the ride accross the state to Lake Huron and dip their front wheels. This idea is what got me into ODRAM in the first place. Last year I was able to convince a small group of cyclists to ride that route with me despite terrible weather conditions. I hope to ride the 160ish mile "double-wheel dip" route again this year, only this time decked out in my JDRF gear from 2022. Please take the time to read the text below that the good people from the JDRF prepared for the riders who don't want to make their own snarky personal message (it's much more informative.) Also, please don't feel obligated to donate, but it is a really good cause that will hopefully lead to making a lot of kids' lives better. Thank you for your time.

Welcome to my JDRF ODRAM fundraising page!
I’m taking part in the 2023 ODRAM, along with hundreds of riders from around the world, to raise money for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Did you know T1D:
- Strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle.
- Occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential to turning food into energy.
- Requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.
JDRF is working every day to change this. And every dollar I raise helps them continue to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community until a cure is found.
I have been hard at work training and fundraising, and your gift today will propel me toward the finish line. Please donate and help JDRF achieve its goal of a world without T1D.
Please check back to view my fundraising progress as my ODRAM weekend approaches. Thank you for your support.
