Cape Symphomy is thrilled to be involved in the Second Summer Cycle fundraising event. This bicyle ride covering 10 of the 15 towns on Cape Cod will benefit more than 20 non-profits on Cape Cod, including Cape Symphony. The ride will take place on September 17, 2023 and there are three (3) distances in the event. A Century, A Metric Century Plus, and a 30 mile Plus - - with a major post-event celebration at Motta Field in Provincetown.

Cape Symphony - Second Summer Cycle
A Charity Ride across Cape Cod
What:
Be part of the inaugural Second Summer Cycle! This is an exciting new event led
by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce-- a fully supported, cape wide, charity
ride benefiting 19 nonprofit organizations on Cape Cod. Ride a route of your
choosing: 30, 60+ or 100 miles on beautiful back roads (and the rail trail if you
choose).
100% of the funds raised by riders go directly to the beneficiary of their
choice
Participate in a celebration at the end of the ride with food, music and
Barnstable Brewing beverages Second Summer Cycle Cans as memorabilia. Enjoy
a special day of riding the Cape landscape while also benefiting tens of thousands
of Cape Codders.

Where:
The Century starts in Mashpee, The Metric Century (60+) in Sandwich and the 30
Mile Plus in Orleans. Safety is a top priority, expect support vehicles and police
presence, along with signage and volunteers along the route. All of the rides end
on the Outer Cape with a celebratory event for riders and volunteers.
The routes are not finalized yet. The permitting process is on going but we are very close.

Cape Symphony’s mission is simply to “Inspire Joy!” in people of all ages and backgrounds through: artistic excellence; world-class musical perfromances; access to innovative arts education programs; a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere; and powerful connections between musicians, students, teachers, the audience, and the music. Now in its 61st year of serving our Cape and Islands community, Cape Symphony is:
• Cape Cod’s largest arts organization
• The second largest professional orchestra in all of Massachusetts (after the Boston Symphony Orchestra)
• The only orchestra serving the Cape and Islands region
Through its far-reaching Educational Programs, Cape Symphony teaching artists work with young students (Pre-K through Grade 12) and adult learners from all 15 towns on Cape Cod, as well as from the nearby islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. This program provides extraordinary arts education and engagement opportunities for all ages, including Suzuki-Preschool, private and group music instruction, the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra, and programs for senior citizens, schools, and groups. Through generous philanthropic support, Cape Symphony keeps its enrollment fees low or free and is able to provide robust scholarship opportunities to ensure access to students across the socioeconomic spectrum.
