I am running my first ever marathon in just under two weeks! As a VA Nurse, and daughter of a Vietnam Vereran, I feel passionately about caring for the Veteran population and thought there would be no better first marathon race for myself then one that honors the population I serve for my career and also is in my home state of NH!
The details:
On November 12, 2023 I’ll be honoring the brave service men and women AND our first responders who defend our freedom by running the Manchester Marathon.
All proceeds of the race will benefit Veterans Count, the philanthropic arm of Easterseals Military & Veterans Services (MVS), which provides financial assistance for services for service members, veterans and their families when no other resource is available.
Over the past 16 years, MVS, with financial support from Veterans Count, has served more than 17,500 individuals suicide risk, unemployment, homelessness, substance misuse, legal concerns, and mental health issues. MVS supports families through a Care Coordination model and provides financial assistance for food, utilities, housing, transportation, fuel, and vehicle repair, and more!

Manchester City Marathon
Sunday, November 12, 2023 marks the 17th annual running of the Manchester City Marathon. The marathon is a moderately challenging Boston Qualifier that takes runners on a scenic trip through the historic mill district of the Granite State’s largest city. Runners in the full and half marathon will enjoy a run that includes fabulous views of the Queen City, surrounding areas, and beautiful fall foliage. Mark your calendars and join us for the Manchester City Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k, and Relays on Sunday!
Veterans Count, the philanthropic arm of Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Services (MVS), provides critical and timely financial assistance and services when no other resource is available to veterans, service members and their families, to ensure their dignity, health and overall well-being.
Veterans Count continues to ensure that 90% of every net dollar raised is spent to provide services and grow resources for NH veterans, service members and their families.
In 2007, Veterans Count was developed in partnership with Easterseals NH (ESNH), the NH National Guard, and the NH Dept. of Health and Human Services. The program provides services and resources to veterans of all eras and their families. MVS Care Coordinators work with individuals and families to create a care plan toward self-sufficiency.
