Everyone knows someone who has battled cancer, that is a sad fact really. I am no stranger, a ten year survivor this year, yahoo! I am not one to ask for donations for anything but this event and very special and near my heart. When I was going through my 16 months of treatments, the Cancer Connection was an incredibly supportive place for me and my family. I will give back to that amazing place as long as I live. I choose to run this half marathon for all who have been challenged with cancer, who have fought and won and for those who have lost their battle. I do this because, well, I CAN!
Your support means so much to me. I am focused on training to prepare for a successul finish! This is not an easy goal for me and when Iam feeling down and sorry for myself along this run, I hold my dear friend Terry close to my heart. I talk to her! She, and all of the others folks I know who have walked this journey fill me with strength to finish! I am so thankful for your donation, support and that I can still physically pull this off!

WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon
The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 14 years! .
This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.
It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
