Hello!
Today, mental illness is our quiet epidmic that no one likes to talk about, but if you try to be aware you might be lucky and see it, and maybe even save a life. We need to end the stigma around mental health and make it a topic that everyone feels comfortable discussing. Together we can make a difference.
Mental illness effects the old and young and can cascade into severe depression and suicide. There is no prejudice to who it can effect and it's something we all need to be aware of and make a normal topic of conversation.
I am riding in honor of my big brother, BOB. He had severe depression that his friends, family and myself did NOT see. He commited suicide last year. I wish I had a second chance to say or do something before it was too late.
To all of you - try to listen and look for any subtle signs from your loved ones around you. Don't just think about it but please take action, before you don't have the opportunity to.
You can save a life.
Thank you for all of your support on my upcoming ride - please share to raise awareness of mental health!

The Ride for Mental Health 2024
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
