Donations are going straight to John Glenn Middle School. I am doing the 64 mile event. I am a JGMS parent . I have twin boys there, and all four of my sons have been John Glenn students.
I started cycling during the Covid shutdown. I found myself suddenly at home with a house full of children doing distance learning, a college student at home all day and a husband teaching on Zoom in our master bedroom. I work in an elementary school office and was asked to stay home for the most part. Suddenly being home with a house full of people brought its own demands. I was shopping, feeding, nurturing and supporting my family in a wider capacity at home and I found I needed an outlet for myself. Cycling became my physical, mental and emotional outlet. It has been my "me" time so I can be a better mother, spouse and person in the midst of demands and stress. Thank goodness for two wheels and a little tenacity. It has brought a lot of peace.
