I'm finally getting around to producing my fundraising page for this year. I couldn't figure out how to edit the defaulted, generic message from last year.
Almost everyone who gets this knows me for long enough so it isn't the first time. I've swam this event every year since it started, used to do the 10k, but the last couple of years dialed it back to the 5k. The event raises money for veterans, and almost all of the donated money goes directly to veterans groups. The Taub's, who started and run this event, aren't using the donated money to pay for their private jet, like the fraud CLINTON FOUNDATION. So if you are going to donate to something which actually helps people, this is it.
I got outside, in a lake, the last two weeks, and did a 3, and 3.7 mile swim. I was swimming, since Oct., inside. That's what I do, I swim all year, not just to train for this event, but it's the only one I do.
I also go to the Red Cross to donate platelets, over 20 times/ year. I'm going to try to attach a picture of my donor page, to verify my lifetime donations at the Red Cross, though it's short, not included are donations I made in the 1970's, and at the Rhode Island blood bank, and Dartmouth, Mary Hitchcock hospital.
Im not bragging, just sayin, I'm doing my part. It takes me two hours one way, to get to the Red Cross donor center, to make platelet/plasma donations. Once they stick me, it's usually a two hour plus process...longer than it should take me to SWIM THIS 5K.
So PAY UP! This might be the LAST TIME I ASK. There certainly is a good chance that I'll be dead, or not able to swim, by this time next year. And the same goes for all of us, especially my older friends out there. I don't want any of you to be at the Gate, and have St. Peter have to ask you, " Why did you STIFF VICTOR, WHEN HE WAS RAISING MONEY TO HELP VETERANS?"
But let's hope we are all still around next year, and you can look forward to getting another motivational message from me.
God Bless
