I have been fundraising for The Ride for Mental Health since the inaugural ride in 2017. One of the many reasons I am so passionate about the cause is my nephew Max Goldstein, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was in college and accidentally died this February, a few weeks after his 24th birthday. Max was a creative juggernaut who brightened the lives of all who were lucky enough to know him. This year, I am riding the 100-mile course with a special purpose: I will affix a sticker with Max's self-portrait near the Ashokan reservoir to honor his memory and his love for nature. Thank you for joining me in spirit by contributing to the cause of better understanding and treating mental health disorders. #endthestigma

The Ride for Mental Health 2025
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
