On June 14th, I will be pedaling my way through the pioneer valley to raise money for Bikes Fight Cancer.

When I ride, my dad is with me. I lost him to cancer. And I'm still so angry and sad about that. Yet, my dad's indomitable joy, curiosity, and ability to live fully stay with me. If you knew my dad, you know he was always looking to connect with people - ever curious, making connections, uplifting. He wrote in his journal that he had always tried to be kind and inclusive. So, I ride for those values. I ride along so many people, admidst a beautiful backdrop. I'm embracing being alive, as my dad did.

Bikes Fight Cancer is a volunteer-run organization, so 100% of rider-raised funds go directly to cancer programs in the region.

This year, Bikes Fight Cancer is raising money for the Mass General Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital (where my dad was treated!), the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute(where my dad was diagnosed), the Center for Human Development’s Cancer House of Hope, Northampton’s Cancer Connection (provided us with services during the cancer journey -- massages and reiki for my dad, a comforting haven for us) and Camp Rising Sun in Colebrook, Connecticut.

100% of all rider raised funds will support valuable cancer care services to patients, families and caregivers as well as funding hospitals focused on advancing cancer research.

LOVE BIKES. HATE CANCER.
