Welcome to my fundraising page. I rode the 500 miles in 2014 to honor law enforcement officers and first responders that have fallen in the line of duty. Since then have rode the day one ride (100 miles) to Asheboro for another five years for the same cause.
My last ride was to honor Office Jordan Sheldon, in 2019. Officer Jordan Sheldon was a six-year veteran of the Mooresville Police Department and K-9 officer. During his career with the Mooresville Police Department, Officer Sheldon was an Honor Guard member and served with the department’s Special Response Team (SRT). In 2015, he was appointed as a K-9 Officer, working with K-9 Loki. Upon Loki’s retirement, Officer Sheldon continued working with his new K-9 partner, Ramon.
Given some health conditions i am unable to participate in the rides. This year i am volunteering to support the 500 mile ride to DC and am deeply thankful to be able to serve those who are riding to honor law enforcement officers and first responders that have fallen in the line of duty.
Please take a moment to understand and donate generously. These officers put their lives on the line to protect citizens and our families and children. All proceeds that we raise will go directly to Charlotte's Finest Legacy Foundation to support its mission of providing college scholarships to area youth seeking a career in law enforcement.
Thank You Much!
Bike 2 DC - Ride to Honor
On Friday, May 9, 2025, we will meet at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Headquarters. We will hold an opening ceremony to acknowledge those N.C. law enforcement officers tragically killed in 2024. Then we will roll out with a full police escort to begin our meaningful journey to DC, fully supported all along the way.
Bike 2 DC - Ride To Honor is a fundraising event benefitting Charlotte's Finest Legacy Foundation and its mission. Registered riders accept two challenges. The first is to ride 500 miles in just four days. But more importantly, the second is to raise money for this amazing organization. All riders agree to a minimum fundraising amount based on the category selected during registration. Riders can reach their goal by donating to their own fundraising effort or sharing their custom PledgeReg fundraising page with friends, family, and co-workers. PledgeReg makes it easy and fun to share your own personal message about why you are raising money, and even easier to collect donations.
Since 2007, Law Enforcement officers from Charlotte and the surrounding area have gathered each May to ride bicycles 500 miles over four days from Charlotte to Washington, DC, as a part of the annual “Bike 2 DC - Ride to Honor” event. Our journey is not easy, but each mile is a tribute to those law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Charlotte’s Finest Legacy Foundation was established to provide the youth of Charlotte, NC, and Mecklenburg County with the freedom to continue their education past high school. The Charlotte’s Finest Legacy Foundation is the result of a collaborative effort designed to honor the memory of Charlotte’s Fallen Heroes by furthering their Legacy through the pursuit of higher education.
