On May 25th, I will be running the Boston's Run to Remember Half Marathon in memory of Sgt. Ian Taylor, a dedicated Billerica Police Officer who was tragically killed in the line of duty on April 26th, 2024, while working a road construction detail. Sgt. Taylor’s sacrifice and service will not be forgotten, and I’m proud to run in his honor.
Boston's Run to Remember is more than just a race. It’s a powerful tribute to law enforcement officers and first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Organized by the Boston Police Department and Boston Police Runners Club, this annual event raises money for community programs and organizations that support the families of fallen heroes. Participants from all over come together to remember, to heal, and to show unwavering support for those who serve and protect.
This run is deeply personal for me. As the daughter of a retired deputy sheriff, the granddaughter of a Washington, D.C. police officer, and the niece and cousin of many in law enforcement, this cause is incredibly close to my heart. Running in Sgt. Taylor’s memory is my way of honoring his life, his service, and the impact he had on his community.
I kindly ask for your support—whether through a donation, sharing this cause, or simply keeping Sgt. Taylor’s family and fellow officers in your thoughts. Every contribution helps fund vital programs for families of fallen officers and supports initiatives that foster stronger, safer communities.
Thank you for standing with me in this meaningful journey.
With gratitude,
Christina Byron
