Change is constant. The ground is unstable. The world is spinning out of control. We are all feeling it. We are all dealing with it.
As a late baby boomer I have seen the cultural shift from mental health “silence” to a more compassionate understanding our human condition. While I am grateful for this progress, I worry that recent societal pressures are pushing many, especially men aged 25 to 60, back into silence.
Many people today face silent struggles with stress, anxiety, and depression. Yet, fear of stigma often prevents them from seeking help, risking their well-being and lives. Unspoken mental health issues are at the core of a crisis that remains unseen and untreated.
That’s why I’m riding in this fundraiser — to help break down barriers, raise awareness, and support programs that foster understanding and help everyone access the help they need. I invite you to contribute — your donation can truly make a difference in saving lives and creating a more compassionate world.
Please join me in supporting mental health awareness. Let’s work together to ensure no one feels alone in their struggles, and that help is always within reach.
Thank you for your kindness and support!
I greatly appreciate any contribution to this worthwhile cause.
The Ride for Mental Health 2025
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
