On August 16, I’ll be riding in the Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb, a 7.6-mile ride that climbs to the top of the highest peak in the Northeast (for the 2nd time, with plans to be better prepared). It’s a steady, steep ascent with an average grade of 12%, and it's considered one of the more challenging bike climbs in the country.

Mount Washington isn't just known for its brutal incline—it's home to the most extreme weather in North America. The summit has recorded the highest human-recorded wind speed on Earth at 231 mph, and experiences hurricane-force winds more than 100 days each year. A mix of these conditions, combined with the relentless climb, will ensure that my Cervelo and I will have a miserable time soaking in bucket loads of type 2 fun.

Im raising funders for the Tin Mountain Conservation Center, an organization that’s been promoting environmental education and stewardship in northern New Hampshire and western Maine for over 45 years. Their programs have reached more than 75,000 students and community members, helping people of all ages connect with the outdoors and learn how to care for it.

My goal is to raise $500, and every contribution helps support year-round educational programs, trail access, and events that encourage people to explore and appreciate nature.

Thanks for reading—and if you’re able to donate, I really appreciate the support!
