I am excited to announce I will be participating in the Police Unity Tour in May 2026 with Chapter 4!

The Police Unity Tour’s motto is: “We Ride for Those Who Died” and we raise awareness about America’s law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

My father, Virginia State Trooper Johnny Bowman, was killed in the line of duty in August 1984. My father was stabbed over 40 times by an unknown assailant who fled the scene on foot. His murder to this day sadly remains unsolved and is the only unsolved murder of a Virginia State Trooper.

Losing my father at such a young age left an emptiness that words will never fully explain. I grew up wondering what life would have been like if he were there - teaching me, guiding me, cheering me on at milestones both big and small. While other kids got to hold their dad's hand or hear his voice, I suffered from a silence that could never be filled. I would stare at the few pictures I had, wishing they would come to life just to hear his voice or hug him one more time.

My father's death has affected much, if not all, of my life. His death pushed me to pursue a career in law enforcement. I graduated the police academy at the age my father was when he passed, as if to pick up where he left off. I live each day carrying myself in ways that I hope would make him proud.

Today, I vow to ride not just for the miles ahead of me, but for the man whose footsteps—and badge—I will always carry in my heart!

My father dedicated his life to protecting and serving others, showing courage, honor, and compassion every day he wore the uniform. He made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, a sacrifice that reminds me that true heroes don’t seek recognition—they simply give of themselves, even when it costs them everything.

This bike tour is more than a ride. It’s a journey of remembrance, a way to honor his legacy, and a promise that his service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. With every pedal stroke, I ride for him—for the father I lost too soon, for the officer who gave his all, and for the man whose love and example continue to guide me.

Dad, this ride is for you. Your memory will live on in every mile, and your legacy will forever ride with me.

It is a sad but humbling fact that there are thousands of children that go through this same loss and grief. I hope you will support me by making a donation to my page today.

My participation in the Police Unity Tour helps raise money for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Museum, which is currently under construction across from the Memorial.  Your donation helps sponsor specific Memorial programs like the Officer of the Month Award, Recently Fallen Alert notifications, and other special projects.  Past projects funded by the Police Unity Tour include the $1.1 million dollar re-engraving of every fallen officer's name on the Memorial wall.  The Police Unity Tour is also funding the purchase and installation of electronic kiosks at the Memorial to assist those visiting the site to quickly locate the names of our fallen on the Memorial wall.

With every dollar that I raise for the Police Unity Tour, I’m doing my part to honor our nation’s fallen law enforcement officers and support the survivors left behind.  Your donation WILL truly make a difference!

Thank you, in advance, for your generous support!
