Why I’m Riding for Mental Health

On June 27–28, 2026, I will ride in the
Ride for Mental Health to support research, education,
and care through McLean Hospital, a global leader in
psychiatric treatment and research.

This ride is deeply personal.

In 2017, my brother died at age 47 after what we believe was an overdose.
To the outside world, he appeared happy and engaged — the kind of person
who always showed up for others. Inside, he was struggling quietly with
pain most people never saw. His story is a powerful reminder that mental
illness does not always look the way we expect, and that suffering often
goes unseen until it is too late.

I am also a nurse and healthcare IT executive working in mental
health, and I see every day how urgently we need better access to
care, continued research, and systems that truly support people before
they reach a crisis point. McLean Hospital is at the forefront of this
work — advancing evidence-based treatment, training clinicians, and
driving critical psychiatric research forward.

I ride to honor my brother, to support the millions living with mental
illness, and to help build a future where people are met with
understanding, effective care, and hope — not silence or stigma.

If you are able, please consider supporting my ride.
Every donation helps fund research and care that can save lives.

Thank you for being part of this effort.
