In March 2024, I heard the words no one is ever prepared for: “You have cancer.” Weeks later, the diagnosis became even more devastating—Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer. Overnight, life became a whirlwind of scans, biopsies, specialist appointments, and impossible conversations. I endured four rounds of chemotherapy, stereotactic radiation, major surgery, and continue ongoing targeted therapy to keep the cancer from returning. There were moments of fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty, but also resilience, hope, and extraordinary care from the people who stood beside me through it all. Today, I am profoundly grateful to be in complete remission, with no evidence of disease.
On June 20th, I’ll be riding through the Pioneer Valley as part of the community to give back to the people and organizations that helped carry me through that fight. Two of the organizations benefiting from this ride—Cancer Connection and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute—were critical parts of my healing journey. Dana-Farber, in particular, likely saved my life. Every mile I ride and every dollar raised helps support life-saving research, compassionate care, and essential services for patients and families facing cancer today. Thank you for helping bring hope to people who need it most.

The Bikes Fight Cancer Charity Ride presented by PDC Incorporated, is an exciting FUNdraising bike ride in Western Mass, where every pedal contributes to funding organizations providing cancer care and services. Choose your ride with 25-mile and 50-mile routes traversing the picturesque Pioneer Valley and along the Connecticut River. The 50-mile ride promises an extra thrill with rewarding views for riders.
