In honor of my beloved sister Amy, who passed away in December 2025 after three years of ovarian cancer, I am fundraising for the Cancer Connection as I train for their Mother's Day Half Marathon this May.
Those of you who are local are probably familiar with the Cancer Connection already, but if not, this is a nonprofit organization in western Massachusetts that provides support groups, integrative therapies, classes, and programs for free, in a non-clinical environment, to individuals and families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Cancer sucks and going through treatment is often difficult and lonely. Anyone affected by such an experience needs all the support they can get.

WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon
The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 15 years - And every year our fundraising gets better and better! Help us continue this trend for 16th year in a row!
This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.
It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
Cancer Connection provides a haven where people with cancer and their loved ones can learn how to navigate the difficulties of cancer through FREE one-to-one guidance, education, peer support, integrative therapies and exercise and creative programs.
