Running, triathlons, rowing, and endurance sports have shaped my life, but cancer reshaped it.
In 2010, I was diagnosed with lymphoma. Today, I am a 16-year cancer survivor — and every mile I run is a reminder of how fortunate I am to keep showing up, moving forward, and giving back.
I’m raising funds for Cancer Connection, an organization that provides free support services to people and families navigating cancer right here in our local community. Their work makes an immediate, meaningful difference for people who need it most — and they ensure that no one has to face cancer alone, regardless of financial circumstances.
This run is my way of paying it forward.
Every donation — large or small — directly supports Cancer Connection’s mission and helps fund services offered completely free of charge. If you’ve ever been touched by cancer personally, or through someone you love, you understand how powerful community support can be.

WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon
The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 15 years - And every year our fundraising gets better and better! Help us continue this trend for 16th year in a row!
This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.
It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
Cancer Connection provides a haven where people with cancer and their loved ones can learn how to navigate the difficulties of cancer through FREE one-to-one guidance, education, peer support, integrative therapies and exercise and creative programs.
