 Hey Friends and Family,

Last year didn’t go as planned.

While training, I ruptured my femoral artery stent. What followed were emergency surgery, complications, blood clots, severe anemia, transfusions, and months of rehabilitation.

It was serious.

But I’m still here. And I’m training — carefully, under medical supervision — for something big.

On August 15, 2026, at 68 years old, I will climb Mount Washington — 7.6 miles straight up, average grade 12%, one of the steepest paved roads in the world — in the Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb.

I’m doing it to raise $1,000 for Tin Mountain Conservation Center, which has educated more than 75,000 students in environmental science across New Hampshire and Maine.

This race is Tin Mountain’s largest annual fundraiser.

If you’ve ever believed:
• That resilience matters
• That kids deserve hands-on environmental education
• That 68 is not “done”

I’m asking you to contribute.

$10.
$25.
$50 if you’re able.

Every dollar helps.

Help me turn this climb into something bigger than a bike race.

Thank you from my Heart!

Matthew
