EVERY SWIM STROKE SAVES LIVES. Veteran suicide remains one of the most pressing crises facing our nation.
This year I am participating in the 10th Annual Swim With A Mission on Saturday July 11th at Wellington State Park in Bristol NH. I'm swimming in honor of USMC LCpl Michael Geary. Michael was born August 6, 1990 in Malden MA. For the last 11 years of his young life he lived in Derry NH. Michael made the ultimate sacrifice for his country on Dec 8th, 2010 in Helmand Province Afghanistan, serving with Fox Company 2nd Battalion/9th Regiment/2nd Division US Marine Corps. To his parents Nancy and Timothy, know that your son and his sacrifice are not forgotten. https://www.fallenheroesproject.org/post/michael-e-geary
Please help me reach my fundraising goal of $1000. Any amount will make a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families. If you would rather not donate in these uncertain times, please pray for Michael and his family, and for my safety on that swim day.
Since being founded in 2017, Swim With A Mission has given almost $13.6 Million to service and support organizations that provide critical services to our Veterans. Every year, SWAM focuses on important needs in the Veterans community and provides grants to worthy Veteran service and support programs. Grant recipients provide services and support including: mental health services, scholarships for children of a parent who died in service, care for homeless Veterans, rides and financial assistance, permanent housing for Veterans, K9 companions, and PTSD assistance.
