My 100-Mile Commitment
On August 1st, I will be riding 100 miles in the Tour de Keuka to support the United Way of the Southern Tier. This is a significant personal challenge for me, and I am dedicated to completing every mile of the course.
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been logging miles on my stationary bike to prepare for the full 100-mile distance. While the weather has kept me off the road for now, these indoor sessions are helping me build the steady endurance I’ll need to stay strong from start to finish this summer.
I am riding to raise $350 for the United Way, which supports vital local programs like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This program provides children with a new book every month from birth until age five to encourage a love of reading. Our family has really enjoyed these books with Baylee and Kolton, and I want to help give back so that other families in our community can benefit from this program as well.
Reaching this $350 milestone allows me to wear the official 2026 event jersey on ride day, which I’ll be proud to wear as a representative of this cause and the community we are supporting.
I would truly appreciate your support. Please consider making a donation through this page—every contribution goes directly toward helping children, seniors, and families right here in our region.
Thank you for your encouragement and for helping me reach this goal!
With gratitude,
Michael
Tour de Keuka
Tour de Keuka is an annual charity bike ride around Keuka Lake in the beautiful Finger Lakes of New York State. This event benefits programs supported by United Way of the Southern Tier. Offering 3 different in-person courses and a virtual option, Tour de Keuka has an option for nearly every skill level.
United Way of the Southern Tier works with the community to solve complex problems in Chemung and Steuben counties in three key areas: Southern Tier Kids on Track; Southern Tier Senior Support Network, and Southern Tier Basic Needs Network. Through gifts from individual donors, local businesses and their employees, corporations, and foundations, United Way of the Southern Tier supports programs for children, senior citizens, and individuals and families in need throughout the two counties.
Additionally, United Way of the Southern Tier is the local sponsor of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that provides a free book by mail every month to each registered child, under 5 years old, in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties — regardless of a family’s income.
