This Saturday, March 14th, I'll be participating in The Last Miner Riding, an endurance mountain biking race. The challenge is to complete as many 5-mile laps (max. allowed time is 1 hour per lap) as I can. My goal is to complete at least 5 laps, but we'll see what happens!
I'm racing to help kids with congenital heart defects - all proceeds benefit Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. I appreciate your support!

Last Miner Riding
The Last Miner Riding is a bit of a different format of mountain biking format. At 9:00am (the top of the hour) everyone starts the 8 mile course (5 mile for Juniors at 9:10). Everyone is allotted 1:15 minutes to complete the first mountain bike loop. Thus, for example if you finish in 45 minutes you rest and recover until the the top of the next hour at 10:00 am and you start the 8 mile loop again. You must be at the start line at the start time for the next lap or you are out of the competition. This continues until the Last Miner Riding remains. It isn't about how fast you can ride each lap, it's about how many laps you want to ride. Just a fun day in the woods with a bunch of friends! We will have a top male and top female prize for the Open catagories and the Juniors, but that's about it.
At CHD Warrior Foundation, our goal is to help families going through some of the hardest times of their lives. Families dealing with Congenital Heart Defect are near and dear to not only our founders, but also our current membership and President.
