I'm riding Pedal to the Meadow and raising funds to help save endangered and threatened Hawaiian forest birds. The race travels through their mountain home, so we want to give back to the 'aina and do what we can to protect species found nowhere else on earth. Please contribute and help me Bike for the Birds. Pedal to the Meadow
Pedal to the Meadow is the USACycling-sanctioned hill climb road race on the island of Kaua`i. Cycle from warm sea-level Kekaha, along the rim of Waimea Canyon, up through the cool upland forest, to Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Koke`e State Park. There's a great gathering after the race with lunch, music, and awards...then stay on island for a social spin along the east and north side of the Garden Island the next day.
BIKE FOR THE BIRDS
The Kaua‘i Forest Bird Recovery Project promotes knowledge, appreciation, and conservation of Kaua‘i’s native forest birds. KFBRP focuses on one threatened (‘i‘iwi) and three federally endangered species (puaiohi, ‘akikiki, and ‘akeke‘e), with the goal of facilitating recovery of their populations in the wild. Let's give back to the birds for letting us visit their forest home!
