Hello,
I'm excited to share that I've committed to participating in this year's Bikes Fight Cancer Charity Ride (the 50-mile version) on June 20th, in South Deerfield, MA.
Bikes Fight Cancer is a community-driven organization dedicated to fighting cancer. Through events like this ride, Bikes Fight Cancer raises crucial funds to support patients, caregivers, and families navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. Their stated policy is that 100% of rider-raised donations go directly to cancer-related causes, while sponsors and registration fees cover the costs of running the events. Recent examples of where funds have gone include:
- Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute at Cooley Dickinson Hospital — support for the Cancer Patient Care Fund, which helps patients facing financial hardship during treatment.
- Cancer Connection — funding for integrative therapies and outreach programs.
- CHD Cancer House of Hope — free services and programs for cancer patients and families.
- Dana-Farber Cancer Institute — cancer research and patient care through Bikes Fight Cancer’s participation in the Pan-Mass Challenge.
- Magic for Maddie — support for DIPG pediatric brain cancer research and affected families.
They also operate a small grant program that can help individual cancer patients with non-medical expenses such as rent, mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, and transportation costs during treatment.
I'm reaching out to invite you to support me in this event by making a donation to Bikes Fight Cancer. You can contribute directly through my fundraising page here:
