They say that every now and then you should put yourself out of your comfort zone - try something completely new, do something unexpected, take a thoughtful risk. Four years ago I did just that at the Cotuit Center for the Arts (CCftA), and I somehow found myself on stage in the Sound of Music - my first show ever. That experience changed me, and reminded me that the arts are essential. This year I am again putting myself out of my comfort zone. I recently acquired a bicycle and have commited to the Second Summer Cycle - my first charity bike ride ever. I ride for CCftA because I firmly believe that the arts can have a powerful effect on your heart and your brain. CCftA offers the highest quality in its award-winning gallery, eclectic concerts, consistently sold-out community theater and dramatic productions, robust classes in so many of the visual and performing arts, and of course the traveling Art Bus that brings art to hundreds of children every year. Please join me in support of this gem in our community.
Cotuit Center for the Arts - Second Summer Cycle
Overview
The Second Summer Cycle is the perfect event for riders of all levels, offering a picturesque journey through 8 historic Cape Cod towns and a strong committment to rider safety. Four distances are being offered, 15, 30, 60, and 100 miles. The start and finish is at beautiful Smugglers Beach in South Yarmouth where there will be a Finish Line Celebration from 12PM-4PM, including local beer, food trucks and live music.
Beneficiaries
18 Local non profits will benefit from the monies generated by the riders, each of whom is asked to raise at least $250 for their non-profit of choice, or to be disseminated across all participating charities, in addition to the registration fee.
