As many of you know, when we lived at Halcyon Condos, my family was blessed with dear Cape Cod neighbors, Bob and Anne Jacobson, who became like an extra set of parents/grandparents to us. And what a pair! They met in a hot tub in the early 1990s, and the rest was history. They did so many things with us--apple picking, swimming on Horse Pond, Thanksgivings and other holidays, going to museums, Trader Joe's runs, free cone days at Ben and Jerry's--the list goes on and on.
One of the things we all loved to do was BICYCLING, and we rode on the Canal path, the Shining Sea Bikeway in Falmouth, and the Cape Cod and Old Colony Rail Trails with them many, many times, including the year we held a rolling birthday party on bikes for Bob's 80th.
Bob and Anne had many fun adventures and travels together. And, unfortunately, for the past few years, they were also both battling cancer. Bob passed away in January, and Anne is soldiering on.
On June 20, in their honor, I’ll be pedaling 50 miles through the Pioneer Valley as part of the Bikes Fight Cancer community—riding to support patients, families, and caregivers impacted by cancer. Every dollar I raise helps fund essential cancer care services and supports hospitals advancing life-saving cancer research. Are you able to help? Every dollar counts. Want to honor them, too? Pledge to get on your bike and enjoy a ride around your corner of this beautiful planet this summer.
LOVE BIKES. HATE CANCER.
Thank you and love to you all!
