Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Cape Cod is a place that gives so much to all of us. Whether we come here for a summer week, return year after year, or are fortunate enough to call it home, we know the feeling of crossing the bridge and seeing the landscape open into pine forests, vast beaches, serene marshes, cranberry bogs and the smelling the salty sea air that makes the Cape so special. It is a place of rest, beauty, family memories, and community.
However, while visitors and residents enjoy the Capes natural beauty, many Cape Cod families have come to struggle with the ability to reliably provide access to food. Across the Cape Cape, food pantries and community organizations provide an essential safety net for individuals, children, seniors, and families facing food insecurity. The Family Table Collaborative’s mission is to end hunger and advance nutritional security on Cape Cod by providing healthy, prepared meals and education to those who need them most.
Please consider making a donation of any amount to support my participation in the Second Summer Cycle ride. I have elected the Family Table Collaborative as my benefactor to support Cape Cod families in need of food assistance because I believe hunger is something that we all believe our community should not experience. Your generous gift can help ensure that local households in need have access to nourishing food during difficult times.
A donation of any size can help provide meals, groceries, and dignity to neighbors who need support. Here are a few delicious Cape favorites that we enjoy that you might consider donating the equivalent monetary value of which the Family Table Collaborative will turn into healthy meals supporting community members needing assistance: donut from Captain Bakers ($3), an ice cream from Cape Cod Creamery ($6) margarita from Anejo ($15), breakfast at Ann & Fran’s ($20), fried clams from Captain Frosty’s (MP hehehe), a clambake at The Pheasant ($140), me biking 34 miles on my fathers 45 year-old Schwinn Tempo ($Priceless)…………
Together, we can honor the Cape by not only preserving its enduring landscape, but by caring for the people who make it our community.
With gratitude,
Nick
