Positive Cycology Ride 2026
Positive Cycology Ride is a fundraiser bike ride to support The Art Room, which is a nonprofit art studio for people with mental health issues. The Art Room's mission is to encourage healing and recovery through expressive art experiences for people who face mental health challenges. We aim to promote art as a means of coping and as a method for creating greater resilience in managing emotions and stress. The Art Room is mostly volunteer based, and has enrolled over 700 people in the Denton area as members over the six years we 've been open, and our numbers are growing.
The Art Room's Positive Cycology Ride fundraiser aims to support The Art Room in its mission, as well as promote the physical and mental health benefits of riding a bike. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and National Bike Month, we want to bring awareness to The Art Room's mission, and to other ways that support one's mental health, such as physical exercise. We hope to engage the community in a fun bike riding activity that is accessible to everyone, both family-friendly and challenging.
We will have a post-ride celebration at East Side Denton, 117 E. Oak St., with local food trucks after the ride. With your registration, you'll get a free drink ticket, and a free raffle ticket making you eligible for some amazing raffle prizes. You can also purchase raffle tickets at the check-in/registration table to improve your chance of winning. We plan to have live music and lots of fun celebrating the ride and The Art Room's mission.
The ArtFullness Project, dba The Art Room
Located in Denton, Texas, The Art Room is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art studio that uses creative expression to support mental health, healing, and resilience. We provide a safe, welcoming space where people facing mental health challenges can create art, connect with others, and build healthy coping skills—at no cost to our members.
The Art Room offers free classes, open studio time, and all art materials, along with guidance and encouragement from trained volunteers, including artists and mental health professionals. Our mission is simple and powerful: to encourage healing and recovery through expressive art experiences that help people manage stress, regulate emotions, and build resilience.
In addition to open studio and art-based classes, we operate Studio 416 for adolescents and Arts for Veterans, ensuring creative mental health support reaches people at critical stages of life. Largely volunteer-driven, The Art Room has enrolled more than 700 individuals in the Denton area over the past six years—and demand for these services continues to grow.
By riding in or supporting the Positive Cycology Ride, you are directly helping keep The Art Room free and accessible to those who need it most. Your participation and fundraising provide art supplies, studio space, and supportive programming that make healing through art possible.
Ride with us. Fundraise with purpose. Together, we help create a space where people can slow down, express themselves, and feel supported.
