Welcome to our fundraising page! This year, in place of fundraising for the MS Society, Mary and I reach out from our local CANCER CONNECTION.
Our niece, Shannon, was diagnosed this year, at the young age of 35, with breast cancer. Her upbeat attitude is helping her get through the medical part of her long journey and she is grateful to so many who have donated for cancer research from which she knows she's benefiting. She's encouraged us to stay local in our fundraising and getting the word out to young women and men about self-breast exam! On that note, our local CANCER CONNECTION is available to cancer patients and their families for so many social services.
This CANCER CONNECTION run/walk is a half marathon but I've signed up for the 9-miler! We'll see about that but either way, we will try to bring in funds for their many programs (www.cancer-connection.org)
We are happy to walk for a cause we believe in and are trying to 'pay it forward' and make an impact by raising funds for an organization that helps local people dealing with cancer. All proceeds support CANCER CONNECTION and they offer their services free of charge to make a difference in people's lives.
Please help us reach our goal and support this cause.
No donation is too small! Thank you for supporting us!
WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon
The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 15 years - And every year our fundraising gets better and better! Help us continue this trend for 16th year in a row!
This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.
It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
Cancer Connection provides a haven where people with cancer and their loved ones can learn how to navigate the difficulties of cancer through FREE one-to-one guidance, education, peer support, integrative therapies and exercise and creative programs.
