I am thrilled to share that I will be riding in the 2027 Police Unity Tour with Chapter 4.
This ride holds deeply personal significance for me. I had the privilege of riding with Chapter 4 back in 2004 and 2005. More than two decades later, I am stepping back into the saddle — wiser, more grateful than ever, and just as determined — to ride for those who can no longer ride with us.
I do this because I love this profession. In law enforcement, we all make sacrifices every day, around the clock — 24/7/365. Some make the ultimate sacrifice. I ride to honor them, and to make sure no one ever forgets their names. And I would rather act on that belief than simply talk about it: over three days and hundreds of miles, I will put in the training and the fundraising to turn gratitude into something real.
The motto of the Police Unity Tour says it all: "We Ride for Those Who Died."
More than 750,000 men and women serve in law enforcement across the United States, putting their lives on the line to protect our communities. That protection still comes at a heartbreaking price:
- In 2024, 148 officers were killed in the line of duty, and in 2025, 111 more gave their lives — each leaving behind a family, a department, and a community forever changed.
- In 2025 alone, 90,178 officers were assaulted in the line of duty — the highest number in more than a decade.
Behind every statistic is a name, a badge, and a family that will never be whole again. The Police Unity Tour exists to make sure those names are never forgotten.
My participation raises vital funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, D.C. Since 1997, the Police Unity Tour has raised nearly $42 million to preserve the memory of America's fallen officers, support surviving families, and fund programs like the Recently Fallen Alerts, the Officer of the Month Award, the Memorial's visitor search kiosks, and the re-engraving of every name on the Memorial wall.
Returning to this ride after two decades means the world to me, but I cannot do it alone. Every dollar raised directly supports the memorialization of our fallen officers and provides comfort to the families left behind.
Will you support my ride with a tax-deductible donation today?
Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and support as I train for the 2027 Tour. I will carry each of you with me on every mile.
With gratitude,
James Krause
