2026 PEC Environment Ride
Welcome to the 2026 Environment Ride! Thank you for supporting the Pennsylvania Environmental Council.
Pennsylvania Environmental Council
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) protects and restores the natural and built environments through innovation, collaboration, education and advocacy. PEC believes in the value of partnerships with the private sector, government, communities and individuals to improve the quality of life for all Pennsylvanians.
A lifelong commitment to stewardship begins with formative outdoor experiences, which PEC works to create and enhance for all Pennsylvanians. Through its trails and outdoor recreation programs, PEC nurtures regional and local partnerships, provides technical support and organizational capacity where needed, advocates for responsible recreation and nature-based economic development, and encourages everyone to explore the outdoors.
The tremendous benefits of trails -- from improved physical and mental health to reduced transportation costs -- should be available to everybody, regardless of their race, ethnicity, economic means, gender identity, or ability. PEC centers diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in its trail work, collaborating with partners to ensure that trails are welcoming, safe, inviting, and accessible spaces for all.
PEC achieves its mission by:
- Supporting and adding capacity to other organizations
- Convening and cooperation between stakeholders
- Developing trail tools for implementation and maintenance
- Leveraging the impact of the outdoor economy
- Encouraging outdoor experiences
PEC also works to reforest abandoned mine lands, protect and restore watersheds, decarbonize power generation, advocate for a better future for all Pennsylvanians, and more. Learn more about all of PEC's work here.
