Well hello there! Thanks for visiting my Hot Chocolate Run fundraising page! On December 7th, I will proudly don my bright red Hot Chocolate Run hat from last year and trek through the lovely town of Northampton, MA. This great event raises funds for Safe Passage, the organization addressing domestic violence in Hampshire County.
Why do I participate?
I feel very
fortunate and blessed to have such great family and friends. When I go
home at night after a long day, I have a safe place to rest with a
loving husband to confide in and laugh with - to be myself with. I know
what it is like to feel safe, comfortable, and loved unconditionally. However, there are families out there who don't and honestly it breaks
my heart. I cannot begin to even understand what it must be like, but I
can do something about it. So my effort - albeit on a small scale -
truly helps families in need. For me, this is my way to give back - to
create safety, to help healing begin, to instill hope. My hope is that
through Safe Passage's efforts we build a better tomorrow - one that
includes justice and change.

$30: Resources, support and hope for a woman calling the 24-hour hotline
$55: A survivor's first counseling session. For many of Safe Passage's clients, this is the first time they've felt heard. It's the first time in years that they've felt hopeful.
$120: A drop-in support group session for survivors of domestic violence
$225: Information, advice and support for a survivor facing a divorce or custody dispute
$500: Healing counseling for a child who has witnessed violence

Stepping Up for Safe Passage!
Safe Passage is the organization in Hampshire County building safety, hope and justice for families who have lived with domestic violence. Adults and kids come to Safe Passage for a variety of programs: an emergency shelter, counseling and support groups, legal advocacy, and so much more.
