Thanks for visiting my Hot Chocolate Run fundraising page! On December 7, I'm participating in the 11th Annual Hot Chocolate Run. This is the second year in what I hope is a long tradition of personal participation in this amazing and necessary event, fighting domestic violence in our community. This event raises funds for Safe Passage, the organization addressing domestic violence in Hampshire County.
I do this run because I grew up in this community. I know many families that utilized the services of Safe Passage, to escape from violence, to get counseling, and to help friends. Safe Passage provides such a vital service in Western Massachusetts, and a substantial portion of their annual budget comes from this run. Every cent and every dollar goes to keeping these services alive, and everything helps. Last year we raised $630.00. Let's beat that this year!!

Here are some ways Safe Passage will put your gift to work:
$30: Resources, support and hope for a woman calling the 24-hour hotline
$55: A survivor's first counseling session. For many of Safe Passage's clients, this is the first time they've felt heard. It's the first time in years that they've felt hopeful.
$120: A drop-in support group session for survivors of domestic violence
$225: Information, advice and support for a survivor facing a divorce or custody dispute
$500: Healing counseling for a child who has witnessed violence

Safe Passage is the organization in Hampshire County building safety, hope and justice for families who have lived with domestic violence. Adults and kids come to Safe Passage for a variety of programs: an emergency shelter, counseling and support groups, legal advocacy, and so much more.
