My one charity ride of the year is coming up! Last year my backers helped raise money for the Royal River Conservation Trust. This year we have the opportunity to support community music. And I'm hoping you'll help!
Saturday, October 1st, I'll be participating in a 50-mile bike ride to benefit 317 Main Community Music Center. My goal: to raise $500 from friends who believe that community music education is as important as I do.
What does supporting 317 Main mean? About 60% of 317 Main's $900,000 annual budget comes from tuition and program fees; donations cover the remaining 40%. That community support funds free programs in schools with limited arts budgets, financial aid for lessons at their studios, and it fills the gap between tuition and the true cost of private lessons. Our support makes it possible for 317 Main to make music education fun and available for all. Let’s keep ‘em playing!
Through the miracle of the internet, you can send donations electronically right now. Other options include a personal visit from me. I'd be happy to swing by and pick up a check (made payable to 317 Main Community Music Center); or you could drop your donation in the mail (my address is below). I’ll deliver it with the others. Of course, your gift is tax-deductible, and 100% will go directly to 317 Main.

Maine Beer Company's Do What's Right Ride
Join the Maine Beer Company Randonneurs for their 2nd Annual Cycling Fundraiser, the Do What’s Right Ride! This is a casual, non-competitive ride with a 25 and 50 mile route through Freeport and it’s surrounding towns where we encourage riders to stop along the way, breathe the fresh air, and stop and smell the roses!
• Riders are invited to attend an exclusive after-party at the brewery with food, live music, hot showers, and beers brewed exclusively for the event!
This event will benefit 317 Main Street Community Music Center in Yarmouth, Maine. All money raised for the event is tax-deductible and will go directly to 317 Main, as Maine Beer Company is paying for the event costs and after-party festivities.
