Thank you for visiting my Tour of the Litchfield Hills fundraising page. Not only is 'The Tour' a great fundraising event for Cancer Research, this year the cause became a little more personal for me. 2 months ago, my good friend Joe was diagnosed with Leukemia. This isn't the first time someone close to me has been diagnosed with Leukemia. My nephew Moe, the son of my sister Colleen Renzullo, was diagnosed with Leukemia. In his honor, my sister and her husband, Emil Renzullo, helped launch Miles for Moe and Camp Moe. A few years ago, Joe and I road the 50 mile Miles for Moe course with my sister Colleen. This year I'm joining Joe's sister Betsy's team, Team Joe, honoring Joe and his battle with cancer! That's Joe in my profile picture. He is and has always been an inspiration to me!
We've already raised several hundred dollars toward our $5,000 goal, but all of that money is in the form of checks and those funds won't be applied to the goal until the day of the ride on August 4th...next Sunday. So here's my ask: Please consider joining me in sponsoring Team Joe so that together, we can raise funds for cancer research to help future generations be cured of cancer.
Tour of the Litchfield Hills 2019
The Tour is a non-competitive 12, 30, 50, 75 and 100 mile bike ride through the scenic Litchfield Hills for riders of all ability levels. For walkers and runners, the Tour also offers 2, 4 and 6 mile routes through downtown Torrington. This year's Tour will be held on Sunday, August 4th.
The Tour's mission is to bring together community resources with the common goal of raising funds to support the care, treatment, education and prevention of cancer for residents living, working, or receiving treatment for cancer in Northwest Connecticut. By donating funds to The Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills, Inc., we will have a positive effect locally, in the Northwest corner, as our friends and families battle the disease.
