On Sunday, October 29, 2017, I will be participating in Exeter Hospital's United in Wellness Cancer Walk & Trick or Treat Trot 5K as the community comes together to help support cancer treatment programs and services at Exeter Hospital's Center for Cancer Care.

Cancer is a disease that has unfortunately impacted the lives of many. In fact, most of us know someone who has heard the devastating words, “You have cancer."  As cancer has touched the lives of too many loved ones and friends, I have made the commitment to raise funds in memory of my sister, Anne-Marie Viviano, and my mother-in-law, Barbara Shaw, both of whom passed away from breast cancer 8 years ago. 

Please consider making a donation to support our local community and those who may be facing their greatest challenge: a cancer diagnosis. Your donation will assist in further strengthening and supporting critical cancer treatment programs and services for patients at Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care, supporting the commitment to provide exceptional cancer care close to home. In making a donation, your generous support will assist Exeter Hospital in continuing to purchase the latest equipment and technology, implement innovative treatment options and therapies, and provide comprehensive patient support services to those undergoing cancer treatment at The Center for Cancer Care at Exeter Hospital.  A portion of the proceeeds will also support The Beyond the Rainbow Fund, the fund started by my sister which directly helps local cancer patients in need.  

Being by sister's side throughout her journey, I saw how important it was for her to have the option of receiving her treatment close to home.  I hope you will consider supporting me in this cause; to help support our family, neighbors and friends who are facing such a devastating diagnosis.  Every dollar, no matter the amount, makes an impact!

Our combined efforts will make a world of difference to those within our community who may be facing their greatest challenge:  a cancer diagnosis.

Celebrate Halloween with a morning of fun and fitness on Sunday, October 27, 2019 as the community comes together to support cancer treatment programs and services at Exeter Hospital's Center for Cancer Care . Now in its fifth year, this fun, festive, family-friendly community event has become an annual tradition for many.

The 5K course is geared towards participants of all skill levels. Prizes to top individual and team fundraisers, 5K division winners and best costume! Enjoy post race snacks, face painting, gift bags for kids and more! Children ages 10 or under may also participate in the Creepy Crawler Fun Run, a short distance, non-competitive run.

Walk, Run, Donate, Fundraise, Create a Team, Volunteer – YOU can make a difference. Your support will make a significant  impact on our patients and their families as they navigate through their cancer journey, ensuring exceptional care close to home.

Embrace the spirit of the holiday and dress in your favorite Halloween costume!

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE AN IMPACT IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY:

Donations and net proceeds from the event will assist in further strengthening and supporting cancer treatment programs and services for patients at Exeter Hospital's Center for Cancer Care. Through the continued support of our community, we are better able to provide exceptional cancer care close to home, including purchasing the latest equipment and technology, implementing innovative treatment options and therapies, and providing comprehensive patient support services.

A portion of event proceeds will also benefit The Beyond the Rainbow Fund at Exeter Hospital, a fund dedicated to providing financial assistance and support to patients in need while undergoing cancer treatment. Whether through providing assistance with daily living expenses, such as rent, fuel, groceries or gas, or providing wellness and integrative therapies, such as massage therapy, with the support of our donors, this fund has made a direct impact on the lives of many patients.

Every donation, no matter the amount, makes an impact!

Awards will be given to the top individual (must raise a minimum of $150 to be eligible) and top team fundraisers (must raise a minimum of $300 to be eligible).

Donations received by November 8, 2019 will count towards your total fundraising amount for award consideration.  Winners will be notified during the week of November 11, 2019.

About The Center for Cancer Care at Exeter Hospital: 

The Center for Cancer Care at Exeter Hospital provides cancer patients and their families with comprehensive, inpatient and outpatient oncology services in partnership with the nationally recognized Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.

Comprehensive services provided at The Center for Cancer Care include radiation oncology, medical oncology/hematology and surgical oncology. Additional services, all offered onsite at Exeter Hospital include multidisciplinary clinics for breast, prostate and lung cancers, a nurse navigator to guide patients through the treatment and recovery process and genetic counseling and testing with a Mass General genetic counselor.

All cancer services are delivered with the individualized care and compassion Exeter Hospital has been nationally recognized for providing to its patients.
