So excited for my 3rd year of the Tough Turtle! When I first signed up in 2016, I was deeply skeptical I could complete the race. I did, and freaking loved it, leading me to participate in Dirty Girl, ROC race, Battlefrog, 2 Warrior Dashes, 4 Tough Mudders, and counting. But Tough Turtle will always be my first love!
A little about the fundraiser -
Your donation supports a truly magical place, the Ithaca Children’s Garden. ICG, an award-winning 3-acre urban garden designed expressly for children, touches more than 70,000 lives each year, at no cost to visitors. They offer world-class environmental programs to awaken the nature-lover in us all. Ithaca Children’s Garden is all about getting kids connected to nature through outdoor play, which has enormously important impacts on the health of kids and the health of the planet.
On a personal note, the Children's Garden is one of our family's favorite places in Ithaca (or frankly anywhere). Atticus has already spent countless hours there splashing in mud, bushwhacking through reeds, digging in sand, climbing in the "anarchy zone," catching tadpoles, picking flowers, etc etc etc. It's a place to not only be outside, but to explore independently from a very young age, which is priceless.
