Thanks for visiting my page! Together we can make a difference in the lives of hundreds of CT young people through the sport of cycling. Riding a bike offers kids an inclusive community and life long fitness!

In 2016, we registered our oldest son, Nick, with a local Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program (CCAP) road training team.  As a family, we enjoyed recreational riding on rail trails and country roads but none of us had done any racing. Nick loved taking off on his bike and was eager to meet kids outside of Wilton. CCAP provided safe opportunities on the bike, new friendships, and experiences we never imagined. He developed as a rider and gained new confidence as a young adult. Membership on the CT Junior Travel Team included racing at USA Cycling Junior Nationals in Maryland and the international race at L'Abitibi, Quebec. Through contacts in the cycling community, Nick joined Team 26 on its annual ride to Washignton, DC, in memory of the Sandy Hook victims and spoke publicly about the need for common sense gun laws. He now leads the road section of his college bike club.

We volunteer for CCAP and on May 1, we ride to raise funds for this wonderful organization and in memory of the late Dave Hoyle, CCAP executive director, coach, and mentor. Dave lives in our hearts and inspires our goals for CCAP.

The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program's mission is to ensure that Connecticut's youth and their families have access and exposure to an organized state-wide youth cycling league. Additionally, youth and their parents should be able to see a clear avenue that allows them to develop as far as their ambition, skills, and abilities can take them. The sport of cycling teaches a child or young adult a wealth of values, social skills, and mindsets that help them become successful in every aspect of their life, and the CCAP is proud to provide kids across the state with the opportunity to participate in a safe and positive team-based environment.

Recognized nationally for its impact and leadership, the CCAP partners with communities and schools to grow youth cycling throughout Connecticut. More than 55 Connecticut school districts and towns have created CCAP-registered cycling programs or are in the process of establishing cycling clubs and teams. over 550 youth participate in these programs. In addition, 40 CCAP youth-specific events were held in 2019. With your help, the CCAP is just getting started!
