Dear family and friends,

Autumn is right around the corner and again this year I have the honor and pleasure to be a part of the Women’s Outdoors Western Mass Team in support of the Western Mass Food Bank during their annual fundraising event Will Bike 4 Food at the end of September.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic this year’s ride will be different changing to a “virtual” ride but the need to support our community food bank is still the same and now in these difficult times it’s even more important for everyone to please help each other out however they can and I invite you to please join us.

For those of you who know my parents and my family you know that the cooking, sharing and eating of a meal is much more than a daily necessity instead it’s very much a daily act of love, kindness and caring.

In memory of my father and in recognition of my mother, Gus and Elsie, I am again dedicating this “virtual” ride to them because in Portugal they both experienced hunger on a daily basis-especially my mother.  So, when they came to this country they worked very hard to ensure that their family always had food security and this extended out to family friends as well-no one ever left our house hungry.

At this time I ask for your support and help with my fund raising initiative by please making a donation to my page (if you can) and also please share my page/link with everyone that you know because I believe that it really does take a community effort to be successful-it really does take the entire team working together to achieve a common goal.

Please know that your contribution no matter what size will definitely make an immediate and positive difference in the lives of local families by providing them with an essential necessity of daily life and good health being food security-no child or adult in this state or country should ever go to bed hungry or worry about when they will be able to have their next meal especially now during this pandemic.

I realize that in this uncertain time that budgets are tight for everyone so please know that no donation is too small-every $1 raised provides 3 meals to a person in need so even if you only donate one dollar that provides one person a day’s worth of food so that they won’t go hungry that day which is a true blessing.

Please know that I truly appreciate your generosity and time in helping to raise money for the food bank-it truly means a lot to me and I send you a heartfelt thank you.

With much gratitude, love, respect, friendship and kindness along with a virtual hug and elbow bump,

Terry C.
