Greetings and thank you for being here once again in my life and on another one of my fundraising pages for a GREAT community organization and cause that I believe in. Many of you know that I have run this race for many years in honor of my Mother Kathy Tetreault who died on 1/10/1997 when I was a Senior at NHS. Her illness was devastating then and remains a guiding light to my entire being. For better or worse her illness due to Stage IV Ovarian Cancer and her ultimate death shaped the person that I am today and without that experience I highly doubt that I would be who you see before you now.
You all have heard that Cancer Sucks and while it TOTALLY does for the human who's body is suffering under it's weight I also want you to know that it REALLY SUCKS for the care givers and support structure for the person dealing with the illness. Cancer Connection looks at the individual and their ripple effect and does a great job at holding all of them, for FREE. Free programs that help to fill the cracks that have emerged in the fabric of a life so that everyone can be stronger to fight, to love, to care, and to continue. There is a saying to put the oxygen mask on yourself first, it's true, without you being alright, you can't possibly be alright or show up for others.
Welcome to my fundraising page! I am happy to advocate for a cause I believe in and am trying to 'pay it forward' and make an impact by raising funds for an organization that helps local people dealing with cancer. All proceeds support Cancer Connection and they offer their services free of charge to make a difference in people's lives.
During these unprecedented times, please help me support this cause.
No donation is too small! Thank you for supporting me! Without you I am nothing, have no capacity, and am only one human. Together when we combine forces we are unstoppable. Thank you for making me feel unbreakable.
In gratitude and love,
Tara Brewster
WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon
The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 10 years! Now that 2020 has been brutal to charities, they need our help more than ever. This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.
It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
