Please consider helping me to lift up vulnerable children in Kumi, Uganda to build a Preschool. Thank you for any amount you can give!
2021 Kumi Benefit Walk
Through fundraising spearheaded by Chinese Community United Methodist Church in Oakland (CCUMC), in 2014, a brand new Primary School was opened in a village called Kumi. It serves village children from pre-primary through 7th grade. Every year since then, cyclists or hikers have partnered to raise monies that have built dormitories, bath houses, installed a water system, fencing, and an athletic field on the school compound.
To raise funds to build a much-needed PreSchool, you are invited to do a month-long Virtual Ride/Hike. Individuals, families, teams, schools, and congregations can work together and earn awards, while helping to reach our $20,000 goal. We have already secured $20,000 in matching funds, which would bring the total to $40,000.
What began as the dream of one young man to help vulnerable children in his underserved village in Kumi, Uganda, has grown into an NGO and Primary School. Through fundraising spearheaded by Chinese Community United Methodist Church (Oakland, CA) since 2010, Kumi Christian Visionary School was built and now serves hundreds of vulnerable children from preschool through 7th grade who live near the school.. Every year since 2015, cyclists and hikers have partnered to raise monies that have continued to build-out the campus, by constructing dormitories, bathing rooms, water systems, fencing, and an athletic field on the school compound.
