Friends and family,
When I began visiting Vermont in 2018, I was stunned by the amount of poverty in this paradise. So, I was not surprised to learn that, each year, as many as 153,000 (out of only 647,000+) Vermonters didn’t know where their next meal was coming from. The devastating floods this summer destroyed many people’s homes, ruined farms, and inundated other businesses, in a state committed to the environmental and economic sustainability of buying local, from small, family enterprises.
Since moving here in 2019, I've donated to the Vermont Food Bank. On Saturday 23 September, I'll participate in the Point to Point bike ride to support the Foodbank combat hunger in this state. With your contribution, we can raise $150,000 this year, and provide over 172,500 meals to Vermonters in need. Every dollar counts; just $10 provides over 15 meals! You can pledge at https://www.pledgereg.com/398188
Many thanks for your kindness,
Courtney Mireille
The Point to Point
The Point to Point, powered by VSECU, is an annual event that raises money for the Vermont Foodbank. Help us end hunger in Vermont by registering or donating today! Join us at the State House Lawn in Montpelier on Saturday, September 23. There will be music, local food trucks, games, and fun for the entire family. Together, we can provide over 172,500 meals for our neighbors in need.
Each year, as many as 153,000 Vermonters are in need of emergency food assistance. As part of our mission to improve Vermonters’ quality of life, VSECU has been involved in the annual Point to Point fundraiser for the Vermont Foodbank for many years, before adopting the event in 2018. All told, the Point to Point has raised over $2 million in the effort to ensure that no one in Vermont goes hungry.
