My name is Charlie Olsen and I am the New Hampshire Kid Governor! I am honored to represent the fifth graders of my home state of New Hampshire as their Kid Governor and I am especially grateful and so fortunate to have such an amazing opportunity to fundraise for Connor's Climb!
Kid Governor is a civics education program that gives kids like me a VOICE to make a difference in the community! The Kid Governor program has allowed me to be an advocate for kids struggling with mental health issues. I have been able to work with so many amazing influencers, advocates and non-profits to help end the stigma associated with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
During the Spring of 2020, I struggled with situational depression during the Covid lockdowns. So many kids did!!! Children were separated and isolated from their friends and sometimes weren’t sure if they would make it through the pandemic alive!
When Connor Ball died by suicide in October of 2011, his family and friends decided that no one else should experience such a terrible loss. Connor’s Climb Foundation is the result of their love of Connor and their commitment to end youth suicide.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people between the ages of 10 and 24. There is good news though, suicide is preventable.

Connor's Climb collaborates with teachers and schools, the public, and the mental health system to ensure that young people have the life-saving resources needed to prevent suicide.
Through the implementation of suicide education programs, Connor’s Climb Foundation helps educators and students foster help-seeking behaviors so that youth in need of supportive services either reach out for them, or get referred to them by a peer, coach, teacher or other trusted adult.
