Welcome to my fundraising page! I’m very excited to raise funds to support the Saint Francis de Sales Walking with Moms in Need ministry! This ministry goals are aimed at helping moms and dads who are struggling. A few of the projects they’d like to invest the money raised from El Tour de Tucson donations include the following.
- Creating a robust website with a database that would include an easy-to-find resource list for pregnancy, struggling parents as well as post abortion healing resources.
-Working with the city to create signs under the Tucson bridges where emotional and physically struggling women are living.
With so many resources available, women in need should know where to get help!
In addition the ministry is focused on post abortion healing. Because everyone should have peace and love.
-Sending some of our core team members to Post-Abortion Healing training. Because according to https://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/human-life-and-dignity/abortion/after-the-abortion ‘...there are repercussions for all women involved in an abortion. In a study done by Anne Speckhard, Ph.D., 85% of the women reported that they were surprised at the intensity of their emotional reaction to the abortion. These reactions included discomfort with children, feelings of low self-worth, guilt, feelings of anger, depression, grief, increased alcohol use, crying, inability to communicate and feeling suicidal…’

ABOUT EL TOUR DE TUCSON
We are now entering our 40th year in preparing for what we think is one of the premier bicycling events in the country.
We hope you participate in this year’s event scheduled for November 18, 2023. You won’t be alone given that annually over 7,500 cyclists participate in the renowned and popular event.
Did you know that El Tour de Tucson enables nonprofit, charitable agencies to raise funds for their respective organizations?
Since 1983, Perimeter Bicycling events have raised over $100 million for local and international charitable organizations.
Walking with Moms in Need is a US Conference of Catholic Bishops ministry in which Catholic parishes and communities "walk in the shoes" of local pregnant and parenting women in need.
Because everyone in our community should know how to help moms and dads in difficult circumstances. Everyone should know how to help the pregnant women who are living under our Tucson bridges and want to choose life, but just don’t know how! Everyone should know how to gracefully help those who are internally struggling with a past abortion.
While not trying to turn St Francis de Sales parish into a pregnancy center, we instead are supporting and referring parents in need to our local pregnancy and post abortion healing centers. We are identifying and sharing the over 100 Tucson and Vail community resources with pregnant and parenting women and men. And just as important, we are identifying and sharing post abortion healing resources.
And when there is a gap identified in the list of Tucson resources, we will be creating our own, based on the God-given gifts of the St. Francis de Sales parishioners!
