Dear Wonderful Family + Friends:
This Father’s Day, I'm riding 50 miles for the Bikes Fight Cancer Charity Ride, remembering my dad who would have turned 65 this year. I’m aiming to raise $1,959, marking his birth year. Dad spent 22 years at the Mass General Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson, where he was not just treated, but genuinely and compassionately cared for.
This team became an extension of our family because families take care of one another. They knew what he cared about—smiling as he flipped through photos of his grandchildren on his iPad, even knitting a blanket for the first grand-baby, allowing his inability to sit still and to fix a drawer in the center, and when he left us—many of them came, held his hand, and said goodbye. You know who you all are.
This experience showed me and my family just how important it is to have exemplary cancer care in your local community in partnership with a world-class care institution. I'm riding for everyone who has survived, for those we've lost, and for all working to make a difference in cancer care.
Please think about supporting my ride or my colleagues’. Every little bit helps! Thanks so much for all the support.
Warmly,
Jenny
