For years, I had heard about ODRAM, but it became personal after losing a dear friend to complications from diabetes. Sadly, he wasn't the first. Over the years, I have also lost my grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and others to this disease.

Those losses convinced me that I needed to do more than simply care—I needed to take action.

That's why I am riding in the 2026 ODRAM and raising funds for Breakthrough T1D, the leading organization dedicated to funding type 1 diabetes research and advancing life-changing treatments. Through the Breakthrough T1D Ride to Cure Diabetes, cyclists have helped raise more than $50 million in the pursuit of better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
